A bit of a hiccup on the kitchen counter top due to a mistake at the counter top shop. The new counter top will installed today, no additional cost for the error but at least now we can move forward with the back splash and bathroom floor tile.
Flooring and Cabinets
Flooring, baseboard, painting and cabinets are now complete. We are waiting for the tile work on the floor and backs plash to be completed, should be completed next week.

Drywall, Paint & Exterior Siding
Drywall finishing was completed on schedule, Exterior siding started today and is expected to be finished early next week. The prime coat of paint and first finish coat of paint will be completed on Friday April 28. Interior doors and trim will be delivered on Monday May 1st and the finishing of the trim will be completed May 3rd followed by paint of the trim on May 4 and 5 with the final coat of paint on the walls to be done by end of Day May 8.
Back Framing, Insulation & Boarding
Great progress since the last post. The final framing inspection was completed and passed by the District of Summerland on April 13. The bulkheads/valance for the ducting was completed on April 14, Insulation was completed on April 17 and inspected on April 18. The drywall was also loaded into the house on April 18. The boarding crew started early on the morning of April 19 and will be done by the end of the day today, the drywall filling and finishing should be ready for paint by May 1st.
Hartley Homes - Gas line
On Friday April 7 the crew arrived at 7:30 to install the gas line, as instructed the excavation was done as close as possible to the fence line to accommodate future development.
Hartley Homes Plumbing & Electrical
Electrical was completed on April 6, inspection is called for Friday April 7, Plumbing supply lines were completed April 6. Framing inspection is set for Monday April 10.
Hartley Homes Fire Blocking
Fire blocking was installed between each stud for the entire dropped ceiling, where blocking was not possible, Fiberglass insulation is used
Hartley Homes Custom Home Builder Kelowna
The electricians started Monday April 3 rd and plan to finish up on April 5th. Plumbing was inspected and passed on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday and Wednesday I completed the fire blocking for the framing inspection and lined the mechanical room with 1/2" plywood.
Hartley Homes Framing
T-Bracing in the roof trusses was completed on March 28. Windows arrived the morning of March 29 and were installed the same day. Roof shingles arrived Thursday March 30 and were installed the same day. Plumbers arrived at 8:00 AM on Friday March 31 to install water supply and drain lines. The wall insulation and vapor barrier behind the tub was installed and the tub arrived about 11:00 AM. Ready for plumbing inspection at on Monday.
Hartley Homes Framing
Still plenty of mud with more rain forecast for tomorrow. On March 28 we had our first visit from Pacific Home Warranty, no issues to report or resolve so a good inspection. The roof was installed on Monday and the roof sheeting was completed Tuesday. Today we were wrapping up the balance of the wall sheeting and the fascia boards for the gable ends. Windows are expected to arrive Wednesday Morning.
